Poses, gestures, expressions, and the roles clothing and make-up can play, especially in more formal photography.
How to pay attention to details, to creatively fill your frame, to anticipate and work with speed and perceptiveness.
The best equipment and settings used for quick action photos.
Formal, informal as well as environmental portraiture-using your subject's natural "environment", be it their home, garden, or workspace, to illuminate aspects of their character.
A creative assignment and feedback will deepen your understanding of the concepts presented and help you to grow as a portrait photographer. Students are encouraged to work on a personal project to learn the importance of returning to a subject multiple times.
